The 2013 Polka & Bloom calendar panels are in the shop! Or rather, pre-orders of the second lot, because the first lot has sold out already!! I can't even say how happy that makes me! Every new design feels like a bit of a gamble... "will people even like this?!" I'm always so happy when it turns out that people do like it. :-)
There are two colourways: grey outline and colour outline. The calendar is inspired by colourful Scandinavian embroidery. Lots of flowers, leaves and a few hearts too!
You can of course embellish the calendar as much or as little as you like. I've started filling in some of the leaves with satin stitching. And highlighted our wedding anniversary with a wee box. A slightly wonky box... but never mind.. ;-)

Dalahäst - Swedish horse embroidery pattern
There's a new pattern in the shop: Dalahäst - Swedish Horse. I've wanted to make a Swedish horse pattern for absolutely ages!
As you may know, I'm from Denmark which is very close to Sweden. But far enough away that some of their culture is quite different and sometimes pretty exotic to me.
The Dala horse isn't that exotic - I've grown up seeing the image. But I am really in love with the horse design. If only I could afford the real thing, they are so pretty!
Anyway, the Dala Häst pattern is more of a collection, based on the horse design, so there is a different version of the pattern and some extras too. All good fun if you want to stitch up something with a Scandinavian feel!
The Swedish horse is also known as Dalecarlian Horse - you can read about it on Wikipedia if you fancy. :-)
